TO ALL INTERESTED AGENCIES, GROUPS AND PERSONS: These notices shall satisfy two separate but related procedural requirements for activities to be undertaken by the Town of Adams. REQUEST FOR RELEASE OF FUNDS On or about October 13, 2017, the Town of Adams will submit a request to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to release Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (PL 93-383), as amended, to undertake the following projects: FY2017 CDBG - Adams Visitors Center Parking Improvement Project and the Hoosac Coal & Grain Park Design Project The Adams Visitors Center Parking Improvement Project will eliminate blighting conditions within and in the immediate vicinity of the existing 135-space parking area at 3 Hoosac Street. The project involves new pavement, curbing, installation of new sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks, drainage, and new landscaping and lighting. The Hoosac Coal & Grain Park Design Project is a "design-only" project which will work to eliminate blighting conditions from the former coal & grain site at 1 Cook Street by the design of a new public park on the property. FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT The Town of Adams has determined that the projects will have no significant impact on the human environment. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required. Additional project information is contained in the Environmental Review Record (ERR) on file at the above address and is available for public examination and copying, upon request, at the Community Development Department, Monday-Thursday, between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
